Wedding bands and wedding rings are synonymous to most people. However, to many people, these are two completely different types of bridal ring.

For many people, when they think about a wedding band, they picture a yellow gold wedding ring that has rounded edges and is fairly thin. This was the traditional or classic wedding band that our parents and their parents wore when they got married. They were very simple bands that didn't cost much and were very plain.

Within the last 30 years, wedding ring designs have dramatically changed. Wedding rings now come in many different metals including platinum, palladium, titanium, tungsten, sterling silver, and of course gold. They also come in many different designs including hand carved rings, two-tone rings, antique, and others.

Still, there are two types of people that shop for wedding bands. There are those that prefer the very simple design of a plain gold wedding band. They are extremely simple in design, easy to care for, cannot possibly clash with anything you wear, and they represent a timeless design that will never go out of style.

There are also those that believe in tradition and things from the past. They embrace the way that their parents and/or grand parents did things and want to follow their paths. These are the same people that like to see life slow down a bit and things get back to the way that they use to be.

At WeddingRings.net, we offer a wide selection of traditional wedding bands as well as modern takes on the traditional wedding band. You can easily find a gold wedding band here to suit just about any tastes. However, you may opt for a wedding band that is made out of a different metal or a wedding band that combines different metals.

Titanium wedding bands and stainless steel wedding bands are two of the most popular types of wedding bands offered these days. They offer great advantages in that they are relatively inexpensive and somewhat carefree. For those that work with their hands on a regular basis, titanium wedding bands are a great choice. They are literally scratch resistant. They are also hypoallergenic for those of us that react to some metals.

Titanium wedding bands and stainless steel wedding bands are being combined with gold and palladium to make them more aesthetically pleasing and to also add value to these rings.

So if you are looking for a simple, elegant, classically designed ring to wear when you get married, the obvious choice is a wedding band.
