Stainless Steel Wedding bands become a hot trend in wedding rings

The traditional wedding ring is, apparently, under some threat as wedding bands are changing in style, tone and, even, the choice of metal. From the traditional, gold wedding ring, apparently, we are now heading towards the time when wedding rings and wedding bands (and the two terms are perfectly interchangeable these days though this has not always been the case) are being made out of stainless steel.

The rust-proof, almost indestructible metal has become the wedding band of choice for many couples tying the knot this year, sparking off a trend which has fed into wedding ring designs which in turn have began to become even more adventurous.

In the 21st century stainless steel wedding ring design combines ornamentation with a range of other metals such as gold, white gold or silver. While the entire idea behind stainless steel in wedding rings and wedding bands is to provide an alternative to traditional, expensive metals. In doing so, however, they have thrown the door wide open to alternative wedding ring designs which tantalise the eye and fire up the mind.

There are many reasons why a stainless steel wedding ring is a choice which is, in the 21st century, much more appealing than a traditional wedding ring.

Cost – this is obviously a foremost criteria. With wedding costs rising each year the price of a wedding band or a wedding ring set is also a factor. A stainless steel wedding band or a pair of stainless steel wedding rings for him and her go a long way towards lowering the cost of the wedding day.

Fashion weddings may be traditional but we are all, now, living in the future. There is no reason to be hidebound in our choice of wedding ring and a stainless steel wedding ring design offers an alternative which is palatable in terms of new designs, breath-taking combinations of metals and, of course, offers durability and toughness; concepts which go down well in a modern marriage.

Design – Stainless steel wedding rings and wedding bands can become conversation pieces in their own right. The many designs which are available today means that even staunch traditionalists can be satisfied.

Appeal – Stainless steel rings sound like they are the predominant choice of action men and Delta Force operatives but nothing could be further from the truth. The elegance and beauty of the stainless steel ring designs has made stainless steel wedding bands appeal right across the divide. Stainless steel wedding rings find an audience with female hearts much as they appeal to rugged male types.

Symbolism – Gold was the traditional choice of a wedding ring for many practical reasons: it was easy to work with. It symbolised something noble and it provided a back-up for a couple who might experience hard times at some point in their young lives. In the modern world none of these things apply bar that of symbolism. Stainless steel rings amply feel that role by providing a metal that is lightweight but tough, resistant to almost anything nature and life can throw at it and destined to look as new, years down the line, as it did the first day it was worn.

When it comes to wedding rings and wedding band design, these days, the sky (and your imagination) are truly the only boundaries governing your choices.
