No more newlywed hang-nails! – For Men
Part one – The MANicure
About to be married women and men, consider this your public service announcement of the day. If you are to-be-wed any time in the near future and plan on sporting brand spanking new wedding bands, please oh please get a manicure.
I know some of you manly men are groaning out there in internet land, getting a “mani” is a lady activity. Well, here are two options to clean up those unsightly cuticles for your adoring wedding patrons (and don’t worry ladies, I’ll get to you next).
The Salon MANicure
Don’t pretend like half of you haven’t gotten a manicure before. Maybe it was out of protest but deep down you know you liked it. I mean who doesn’t like getting their hands massaged by cute little giggling Asian ladies? If you really want to get into the whole experience, some nail salons have a hot wax treatment that not only feels divine but will leave those rough bear hands feeling incredibly soft and silky smooth. Plus, you’ll get major points with the in-laws and if you want your groomsmen to impress those beautiful, and single, bridesmaids, bring them along too and call it “moral support.”
The Home-made MANicure
Ok, so if for some of you more macho types can’t swallow your man-pride enough for a spa day with the fiancé, how about a little home-made finger soak?
*Pour some hot water in a bowl and soak your fingers for about a minute to a minute and a half then dry.
*Take a pair of nail clippers, not those bulky straight-edge toe clippers but the round-edge lady ones, and continue to clip offensive hang nails and other miscellaneous hanging skin from around the nails.
*Then clip nails to a short length, and I’m serious about this, men with long nails have a huge creep factor and you don’t want to embarrass your lovely partner on the big day…do you, do you?
*File away any ridges or inconsistencies and finally apply lotion to have baby smooth skin for all that hand shaking you’re going to do on your big day.
*Then think to yourself how much easier and more fun it would have been if you had just gone to the salon with your spouse-to-be?
Men, I know it’s a struggle even to get some gel in your hair and a razor across your face but above all those scruffy face, calloused hand days, you will want to look totally handsome on your wedding day, even if it’s just to impress your future spouse.
So, suck it up clip it down and show it off, you’ll thank me on your wedding night!
